Owens Corning has named Summer Harvest its 2027 Shingle Color of the Year, marking the 10th anniversary of the program. The color is offered in both the Duration Designer and Duration FLEX shingle lines. Here’s what it looks like, where it works best on Colorado homes, and how we recommend installing it on the Front Range.
What Color Is Summer Harvest?
Summer Harvest is a blended shingle, not a flat single tone. Gold, blue and rust-brown granules mix together, so from the street it reads as a warm tan that shifts as the light changes through the day. It has more depth than a standard brown and feels lighter than a charcoal or weathered wood.
Why Summer Harvest Works on Colorado Homes
- Stucco and stone: It complements the tan stucco and buff stone common in Longmont, Castle Rock, Parker and Highlands Ranch.
- James Hardie siding: It pairs well with deep green, navy or warm white fiber cement siding.
- High-altitude sun: Warm, mixed tones hide dust and minor surface wear better than solid dark colors.
Color Matters, But Hail Decides How Long Your Roof Lasts
On the Front Range, hail and wind shorten more roofs than age does. That’s why we only install Class 4 impact-resistant shingles, Owens Corning Duration STORM or better, with all-new metals and flashing. For homeowners who want Summer Harvest, we recommend the Duration FLEX version. Ask your insurance agent whether a Class 4 roof qualifies you for a premium discount.
How Much Does a Summer Harvest Roof Cost?
Our Class 4 shingle roofs run about $1,000 per square (100 sq ft) installed. Your final price depends on roof size, pitch, layers to tear off and decking condition. We give you a written, line-item estimate after an on-site inspection.
